Privacy policy
Draft for legal review. Not published copy. Last updated: to be set on publication.
1. Who is responsible
Navi Insights Ltd is the controller of personal data collected through this website, for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Write to hello@naviins.com with any question about this policy or about information held.
2. What is collected
Two things. First, anything typed into the contact form: a name, a reply address, an optional company name and the message itself. Second, a small amount of aggregated usage information about how pages are reached and read, collected only where consent has been given.
3. Why it is collected
Enquiry details are used to reply to the enquiry and, where a piece of work follows, to administer that work. Usage information is used to understand which pages are useful. Neither is sold, and neither is used to build an advertising profile.
4. How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after twelve months. Records connected to an engagement are kept for as long as the contract and UK tax law require, and no longer.
5. Who else sees it
Email and hosting are provided by third parties acting as processors on Navi Insights' instructions. They process the information only to deliver those services, and are bound by contract to do so.
6. Rights
Anyone whose information is held can ask for a copy of it, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being used. Requests are answered within one month. A complaint can also be made to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection.
Cookie policy

What is set, and when
Nothing beyond what the site needs to function is set until consent is given. The banner gives reject and accept equal prominence, and reject is the default until a choice is made.
Strictly necessary
One cookie records the cookie choice itself, so the banner is not shown again on every page. This one is set whichever option is chosen, because without it the choice cannot be honoured.
Analytics, only with consent
If analytics are accepted, a measurement cookie records, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how they are reached. It carries no name, no email and no advertising identifier.
Changing the choice
The choice can be changed at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page, which brings the banner straight back.
